After my four decades in the sales and marketing industry, Terry helped me recognize my potential future life. He saw strengths in me that I didn't really know were there, and helped me monetize my valuable property (Condo) in a Capital City. He has mad skills.

Terry Laster has been a game changer for my business in the past several years. His easy-going but direct style helped me hone in on my strengths. He has elevated my Interior Design business which has helped me soar.

During the Covid crisis, I began to reassess my career. Although I was successful in my job and satisfied with my compensation, I was not happy with work-life balance, nor with the direction the company was going. However, I have no college or advanced degree and most people who have my position at other companies have at least a bachelors degree, some have graduate and most have special certifications. Terry helped me to refine my résumé and to focus on companies that are a better fit for me. Secondly, he helped me apply for new positions and create talking points to support the reasons why my lack of education and certifications are not a hindrance at this stage in my career. Ultimately I received two great job offers and I am much happier in my new role.

I first consulted with Terry at Laster Career Counseling 10 years ago when I started my own law practice. This was instrumental in helping me to zero in on practice areas, fine tune my workforce and determine specific marketing strategies. However, after the birth of a special needs child, divorce, and Covid hit, I consulted with him again in order to reassess. Once again, through brainstorming sessions while understanding the nature of my workflow, Terry helped me to streamline my practice, allowing me time for personal fitness and to homeschool my child.

When I consulted with Terry I had already applied for and obtained a new position with another company. After I had been with the company for six months I wasn't happy there. Not only had I signed a retention agreement, but within my profession and within my local community, I did not want to burn bridges by hopping to a new company in a new role so soon. Through brainstorming with Terry I was able to share the reasons that I did not like my new role or new company, He helped me to understand that what I really needed to do was to ask for a reasonable accommodation for some family issues that I was experiencing. In the end I still did not like my job or the organization, but it allowed me to remain in the position long enough to comfortably seek a new opportunity without being terminated in the current role.
